The Dharamsala, India-based Tibetan Government-in-Exile has announced a reshuffle of its senior officials heading major departments.

According to a report from Dharamsala, the changes, to take place by the middle of April 2002, includes secretaries of the departments of Health, Finance, Religion and Culture, Home, and Education. The head of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts has also been changed in a subsequent announcement.

Mr. Tenpa C. Samkhar, current Political Secretary in the Kashag Secretariat, will be Secretary of Health Department; Current Health Secretary Tsering Dorjee will be the new Secretary of the Finance Department; Current Finance Secretary Thupten Tashi will be the new Secretary of the Religion and Culture Department; The current Religion and Culture Secretary, Ven.Karma Gelek Yuthok, will be the new Secretary of Education Department; Current Education Secretary Tsering Dondup will be the new Secretary of the Home Department; Current Acting Home Secretary Jigme Jungney has been posted as the head of a new office responsible for Co-operatives of Tibetan Settlements.

The Director of Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, Ngawang Chodak has been transferred to the Department of Home. Mrs. Kalsang Yudon Dagpo has been appointed as the new TIPA Director.
