Ling RinpocheThe Capital Area Tibetan Association is honored to welcome His Eminence the 7th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche on his first official visit to the Washington, DC area.

His Eminence the 7th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche was born near Dharamsala in 1985. In 1987, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama recognized him as the reincarnation of His Holiness the 6th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche (1903–1983), who was the most Senior Tutor of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

White Tara Long Life Empowerment (August 24) – His Eminence the 7th Kyabje Yongzin Ling Rinpoche will impart the White Tara Long Live empowerment. White Tara is a female Buddha of compassion. Her practice is said to help increase one’s lifespan, merit, and wisdom.

​​The Amitabha Initiation (August 25) – Amitabha Buddha (whose name is often translated as the Buddha of Limitless Light) is associated with his pure land of Sukhavati–the Land of Bliss). In Mahayana Buddhist traditions, many practitioners pray to Amitabha to be reborn in Sukhavati themselves and also pray for their loved ones who’ve passed to be reborn there. Amitabha is also known as the celestial guru of Avalokitesvara and Tara, the male and female buddhas of compassion.
