Phuntsog Nyidron has audience with the Dalai Lama

Former political prisoner Phuntsog Nyidron had an audience with the Dalai Lama on April 22, 2006 during which he inquired about her situation and gave her advice on her future. The audience took place in a town near Chicago where the Dalai Lama was on a visit.

Relating her experience, Nyidron said, “My audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama is something that I will cherish throughout my life. This dream of mine that was finally fulfilled on April 22, 2006 has given me immense personal satisfaction. His Holiness gave me much advice on my future.

“However, even as I was having my audience, my mind wandered to my fellow Tibetans inside Tibet, particularly the elderly Tibetans, who are longing for the fulfillment of their own similar dreams. I know how much more such an audience would mean for those millions of Tibetans if they had such an opportunity as I did.”
