The talk will be about recently published "Seeing the Sacred in Samsara: An Illustrated Guide to the Eighty-four Mahasiddhas" by Prof. Don Lopez, Jr. of the University of Michigan, joined by Tenzin Tethong who wrote the preface to the collection of the paintings commissioned by his grandfather Tethong Gyurme Gyatso (1890-1938) when he was Governor-general of Kham in eastern Tibet.

Voices of the Stone (Rdo yis kha grags pa) follows two entrepreneurs as they attempt to enter the mining market, and the various paths and choices they face. The film is set against the vast and majestic landscape of northern Tibet—its fauna, its herdsmen, their customs and the struggle for survival; the pilgrims and the small anecdotes of daily life—these are shown in slow motion as one of planet Earth’s ultimate primeval environments.
