On March 18, Tibet Advocacy Day 2013 was organized by the Australian Tibet Council (ATC) in the capital of Canberra. Twelve young Tibetan-Australians shared their personal stories about Tibet with almost 40 national leaders from across the political spectrum. They urged the Australian government to adopt a new approach on the Tibet issue by joining forces with other governments. Two days later, the Senate passed a motion on Tibet.
ATC has made an excellent video about Tibet Advocacy Day and the personal stories of the participants.
Tibet Advocacy Day in Australia was held in concert with similar Tibet Lobby Days in the national capitals of Belgium, India, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
In 2012, ICT and ACT announced a partnership to work together to further international cooperation toward resolving the Tibet problem.
