Tibetans detained and beaten by Nepali police after March 10 demonstration.
Twenty to twenty-five Tibetan and Nepali youth were detained and beaten after attempting to march to the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu on March 10. They were protesting the 43rd anniversary of a failed Tibetan uprising crushed by Chinese authorities.
According to one of those detained the protesters were arrested near the Chinese embassy and loaded onto police vans.
After being beaten in police custody, the protester reported, they were dropped off one by one around Kathmandu. As of today, one protester remains in police custody.
