The House of Representative’s Committee on Foreign Affairs has announced a hearing of the full Committee on “Tibet: Status of the Sino-Tibetan Dialogue” to be held on March 13, 2007.
Chairman Tom Lantos has requested Paula Dobriansky, U.S. Under Secretary of State and Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues, Lodi Gyari, Special Envoy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Richard Gere, Board Chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet to testify at the hearing.
This is the first hearing on Tibet and China that the 110th Congress is holding since it came into session in January 2007.
The hearing will be held in Room 2172 of the Rayburn House Office Building beginning at 10:00 a.m. and is open to the public.
