ADVOCACY/COMMUNICATIONS FULL-TIME INTERNSHIP
The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) is currently seeking interns to work in ICT’s advocacy/communications departments.
ICT is a place where committed and talented individuals work for the human rights and self-determination of the Tibetan people. The priority of our internship program is assisting the staff with what needs to be done with regards to our current campaigns and programs. However, we try to assign projects that are relevant to the interests of our interns as much as possible.
Internships at ICT are available on spring, summer, and fall semester basis. Interns work on a variety of projects including assisting in legislative tracking and lobbying, answering information requests and correspondence, website maintenance, archiving press articles and photographs, report research, and event planning.
In selecting interns, ICT gives consideration to past involvement in Tibetan issues and organizations, travel to Tibet or Tibetan communities in exile, and involvement in related human rights issues. Tibetan college students and members of Students for a Free Tibet chapters are especially urged to apply, as are students who have participated in an accredited Tibetan studies program, or other young people with a committed interest in Tibet, China, and political advocacy. The full-time internship is unpaid, but comes with a stipend per month. Interns can arrange for college credit through their college or university.
If you are interested in an internship at ICT, please send a cover letter, resume, and a short writing sample. Letters of recommendation are appreciated, but are not required. The writing sample should demonstrate in no more than two pages your ability to convey a clear and concise message. If you have any questions regarding the internship program, feel free to contact us by email at [email protected] or by phone at 202-785-1515.
