(Part time – minimum 15-20 hours weekly)

The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) is currently launching a virtual/remote internship program.

ICT is a place where committed and talented individuals work for the human rights and self-determination of the Tibetan people. The priority of our internship program is assisting the staff with what needs to be done with regards to our current programs. However, we try to assign projects that are relevant to the interests of our interns as much as possible.

Internships at ICT are available on spring, summer, and fall semester basis. In selecting interns, ICT gives consideration to past involvement in Tibetan issues and organizations, travel to Tibet or Tibetan communities in exile, and involvement in related human rights issues. Tibetan college students and members of Students for a Free Tibet chapters are especially urged to apply, as are students who have participated in an accredited Tibetan studies program, or other young people with a committed interest in Tibet, China, and political advocacy. The internship is unpaid. Interns can arrange for college credit through their college or university.

Outreach/Advocacy interns will have opportunity to work on a variety of projects such as ICT’s annual Tibet Lobby Day, the Rowell Fund for Tibet, Tibetan Youth Leadership programs. Responsibilities will include assisting in event planning, answering information requests and correspondence, curating photographs, report research, legislative tracking and other tasks as assigned.

The Graphic Design intern will have the opportunity to assist on a variety of ICT’s digital assets, such as graphic program promotions video curating/editing. Projects will be tailored to the intern’s strengths within the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere). Temporary access to the Adobe Suite will be provided by ICT.

As a communications intern, you’ll have the opportunity to gain experience in public relations, content production, social media and other communication skills. Responsibilities will include helping to monitor and record media mentions of Tibet and ICT; draft and edit press releases and other copy; assist in planning and developing social media posts and strategies; respond to and pitch the media; and complete other tasks as assigned.
