Ling Rinpoche, the young reincarnation of the senior tutor of the Dalai Lama, visited International Campaign for Tibet staff on Aug. 22, 2019

Ling Rinpoche, the young reincarnation of the senior tutor of the Dalai Lama, visited the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) on Aug. 22, 2019 and informed the staff of his support for our work.

Rinpoche said he had been following the activities of ICT for some years and that ICT is able to impact the people of Tibet at a time when they are suffering through great difficulties under China’s rule.

Rinpoche expressed his belief that the work we do is of benefit not just to Tibetans, but to humanity at large.

Rinpoche ended his brief remarks by saying he would try his best in his position to support the work ICT does.

Ling Rinpoche was born near Dharamsala, India in 1985. Two years later, the Dalai Lama recognized him as the reincarnation of the 6th Ling Rinpoche (1903–1983), who was the Dalai Lama’s most senior tutor.

Rinpoche is making his first official visit to Washington DC. Earlier in the day on Aug. 22, he spoke to Radio Free Asia.

This weekend, the Capital Area Tibetan Association will host Rinpoche for a White Tara Long Life Empowerment on Aug. 24 and an Amitabha Initiation on Aug. 25. Learn more about these events.
