If you are in the New York City area on May 9-11, please join the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) and the Museum of Moving Images (MoMI) for Days of Compassion, a special two-day cultural program presented in honor of the Year of Compassion, celebrating the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Immerse yourself in Tibetan culture through art, film, and community workshops.
Weekend Highlights
- Sand Mandala Creation: Observe the meticulous two-day creation of a sand mandala by monks from the Gyumed Tara Temple in Queens. The program concludes Sunday afternoon with a ceremonial destruction of the mandala, honoring the Buddhist ideal of impermanence.

Keep an eye on ICT’s online store…
—
Keep your eyes on the ICT online store for a new artist collaboration later this month! We’ll be adding some exciting new items … Until then, check out all of the Heart to Heart items we have as part of our collaboration with renowned illustrator Patrick McDonnell.
We have just a few copies of ICT’s 2026 calendar remaining! Great Compassion is a celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday and the power of compassion—the quiet strength and the power it holds to heal and transform. We are deeply honored to collaborate with our friends at Mutts Comics to share some of our favorite illustrations and quotes from Heart to Heart, a remarkable collaboration between His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and renowned illustrator Patrick McDonnell. With gentle wisdom and moving simplicity, this book invites us to reflect on our connection to one another and to this Earth we all live on. It is a call for a Compassionate Revolution—a reminder, as His Holiness writes, that “we are indeed all members of a single family, sharing one little house.”
