CHINESE OUTREACH

The people of China can play an important role in ending their government’s oppression in Tibet.

To support the Dalai Lama’s Middle Way Approach to addressing the needs of both Tibetans and Chinese, ICT reaches out to members of Chinese civil society.

Chinese people themselves are among the biggest victims of their government’s abuse. Under the despotic rule of the Chinese Communist Party, many Chinese dissidents and democracy advocates have fled overseas. ICT works with these activists to promote change for Tibetans and Chinese.

ICT speaks to Chinese-language media to give them accurate information about Tibet and ensure the voices of the Tibetan people are heard by their Chinese peers. We also create Chinese-language material and send it to China.

ICT maintains an entire Chinese-language website, liaowangxizang.net. In addition, we manage several Chinese social media accounts, and we search Chinese social media, messaging apps and websites to monitor discussions about Tibet.

As the Middle Way Approach makes clear, resolving the Tibetan issue will ultimately benefit the people of China.

By helping us reach out to Chinese people, you can help bring progress to Tibet—and to China.
