EUROPE
The European Union and governments can be powerful advocates for the people of Tibet.
Through our offices in Amsterdam, Berlin and Brussels and our partnerships with the Australia Tibet Council and the Tibet Society, UK, ICT engages foreign leaders to advance the Tibetan cause.
ICT advocates before European Union institutions in pursuit of goals that include a negotiated settlement with China on Tibet’s future. We interact in particular with the Tibet Intergroup, committees on foreign affairs and human rights at the European Parliament, the European External Action Service, the European Commission and the European Council.
We also discuss Tibet with leaders and parliamentarians in EU member states and with Europe-based international organizations and institutions, encouraging them to provide political and financial support for the Tibetan people.
Through our work and partnerships in Australia and the United Kingdom, government officials and members of Parliament in these countries are engaged in order to raise Tibetans’ concerns in the international arena and pressure China to respond to those concerns.
The future of Tibet is an issue that will affect the entire world. Therefore, governments around the world need to address that issue before the situation in Tibet further deteriorates.
With your support, ICT can continue to ensure that leaders in Europe and other countries learn about the Tibetan cause and stand up for the rights of the Tibetan people.
