Since 1988, the International Campaign for Tibet has focused on communicating with the world about Tibet. Due to our detailed reporting and ongoing communications, we have been able to affect significant positive change. We communicate by postal mail — and other channels — not only to generate income and maintain our membership base, but to educate and involve the public through petitions to US institutions and by other means, thereby advancing our mission. As a result, in accordance with the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines, ICT allocates a portion of our direct mail costs to program services and to fundraising.
